We’re stopped at Harwood Ave. on the west side of Milwaukee (Wauwatosa) waiting for clearance to come into the yard. We’ve run against the current of traffic on the westward mainline from Duplainville where after getting the OK we’ll run the rest of the way to Grand Ave. per 19 order. We’ve got a couple of Milwaukee’s big GE U36C’s which is unusual power for our 100 mile way freight.
It’s 1978 and soon bankruptcy will loom and in 1980 LINES WEST will be abandoned and in 1985 we’ll be the SOO LINE and in 1990 we’ll be CP RAIL and in 1997 the south end where I’m at we’ll be sold to the IMRL and in 2002 to the IC&E and in 2005 I’ll be retired...WOW!
